Abstract:
A molecular biosensor is a molecular system that produces a visible or quantifiable signal to indicate the existence of an occurrence of a biological substance or a biological event. Most widely documented molecular biosensors include molecular beacon (MB), fluorescent resonance energy transfer (FRET), bioluminescent resonance energy transfer (BRET), molecular fragment (or fluorescence) complementary systems (BiFC). The latest progress in live cell imaging using BiFC and its derived methods in authors’ lab will be discussed in detail.
